My 365, Day 56 - Trash Day
Thursdays are very exciting days around our house. That's the day our son's cultural hero comes by - the garbage man. Forget Spider-Man. Step aside Mickey Mouse. And Imagination Movers, you were close, but the cigar goes to the man in the impenetrable green truck.
He wields his robotic Claw of Power with the deft restraint and confidence of a Jedi swinging a lightsaber. He crushes America's vile refuse with a power heretofore unseen by our comparatively primitive eyes. And he gently sets the family receptacle back in its place with the tender care of a mother kissing her newborn. Most importantly, he always blows his horn for his biggest fan - the little blonde boy in the green gardening gloves standing on our front porch.
